Los Angeles Galaxy are hoping to maintain their perfect start to the 2011 Major League Soccer campaign when they face New England Revolution tonight.
The Galaxy opened up with a 1-0 victory at Seattle Sounders last Tuesday, and coach Bruce Arena is already keen to see further improvement in their first home of game of the season.
The former United States national team boss said: “Our objective is to play better than we did on Tuesday. If we do that, we'll position ourselves to win the game.”
For New England this is their first match of the campaign, and they are keen to show a stronger defence having conceded more goals than any other MLS franchise last season.
Goalkeeper Matt Reis said: “I think we all knew going into this year, having given up the most goals last year, that we were going to try to eradicate that.
“So, I think that’s been on everybody’s mind. I think that as a group we’ve all made an effort to make defending our top priority, and I think it’s clearly shown (in pre-season).”
