Kenny Dalglish is refusing to get carried away with calls for him to stay on as Liverpool manager.
Dalglish was appointed until the end of the season after the Reds sacked Roy Hodgson, and after a difficult first few games he has now led the team to four successive victories.
Sunday’s superb 1-0 victory has propelled the Merseyside giants to sixth in the Premier League, their highest placing of the season so far, and many are calling for him to be offered a job beyond this campaign.
But Dalglish is refusing to get involved in the talk of his future, saying: “I'm only doing what I said I would come in and do, which is help.
“I'll never stand in the way of progress at this football club.
“I have never had a conversation with the owners beyond the conversation I had when I came in.
“That's where we stand at the moment and until there is more to discuss, that is where we are.”
