Stade Rennais will be looking to remain hot on the tail of the top three when they hosts Lorient in Ligue 1 today.
Rennais are currently fourth in the French top flight, occupying the only qualifying berth for the Europa League, but they are just two points behind third-placed Lyon who currently hold the third and final qualifying spot for next season’s Champions League.
Frederic Antonetti’s side are also just four points behind second-placed Marseille and seven behind league leaders Lille with eight games to play, meaning the title remains a possibility should the three teams above them slip up in the coming weeks.
Ninth-placed Lorient, meanwhile, will be nervously looking over their shoulders at the relegation zone despite being in the top half of the table, with the drop zone just six points below them in a heavily congested Ligue 1 table.
Stade Rennais will be looking to rediscover their form after going four games without a victory, losing 2-0 to Stade Brest last time out, while Lorient will be aiming to end their seven-game winless run in all competitions since hammering Bordeaux 4-1 in February.
