Rangers v Motherwell live preview

Football News Staff - 30 Jan 2011
Nikica Jelavic has set his sights on firing Rangers into a Co-operative Insurance Cup final showdown with Celtic.

The Hoops booked their place in the Hampden Park showpiece with a convincing win over Aberdeen on Saturday, and now it is the turn of Rangers when they face Motherwell later today.

And Croatian forward Jelavic, who this week netted his first goal since returning from an ankle injury, is determined to make sure the Light Blues match their efforts of their fiercest rivals.

He told Rangers’ official website: “I am looking forward to playing at Hampden for the first time and if we can play the way we can, I am confident we can win.

“When we are at 100%, it is very hard for other sides to compete with us and I hope we don't have any problems this weekend.

“I have not seen much of Motherwell because I have not been in Scotland for a lot of the time since I signed for the club.

“I have been told they are a good side but I also know what we can do and I am not thinking of other clubs. I'm only thinking about what we are capable of.

“Other teams will try to fight with us but when we are at our best, we should not be scared of anybody.

“We are Rangers and we are going into this game to win a place in the final.”
