Marseille will be looking to capitalise on Lille’s slip-up when they visit Montpellier this afternoon.

Second-placed OM entered the 31st round of fixtures just three points behind the French Ligue 1 leaders, but they have been handed a huge incentive to pick up three points at Stade de la Mosson after seeing Lille held to a 1-1 draw by Bordeaux on Saturday.

A win today would move Marseille within a single point of Lille with seven games remaining, and they will also be wary of third-placed Lyon and fourth-placed Stade Rennais who are also in the fight for the title and one of the three qualifying spots for next season’s Champions League.

While Marseille head into this match on a four-game unbeaten run in the league, drawing 2-2 with Toulouse last time out, Montpellier will be aiming to bounce back from the disappointing 1-1 draw with Nice.
