Marseille will be aiming to close the gap between themselves and the league leaders when they visit Lens today.
Didier Deschamps’ second-placed side are seven points behind table-toppers Lille but they do have a game-in-hand, and a win today would keep them firmly in contention for the French Ligue 1 title.
Lens, meanwhile, are languishing in the relegation zone, five points from safety, but they do have a game-in-hand over the teams around them and that is today’s game, and they will be desperate to record an upset as they aim to remain in the top flight.
While Marseille had into this game on the back of a 2-1 win over Paris St Germain, Lens boosted their survival bid with a 4-1 victory at Montpellier.
