Le Mans could move into Ligue 2’s promotion places, and hurt Le Havre’s chances in the process, when they meet tonight.
Fifth-placed Le Mans are just two points behind Dijon Fco ahead of their game-in-hand at MMArena this evening, and they will hope to enter their final seven games among the top three as the race for promotion to France’s top flight heats up.
However, they are fortunate to still be in the running because of a poor run of form that has seen them fail to win since February 12, although they do come into this game on the back of four successive draws.
Le Havre, meanwhile, are also in the reckoning, one place and one point behind their hosts, and they know a defeat to their rivals would be a major blow in their bid to seal a place in Ligue 1 for next season.
While Le Mans head into this game on the back of three straight goalless draws against Clermont Foot, Sco Angers and FC Istres, Le Havre will be looking to end a three-match winless run following their 1-1 draw at Nimes last time out.
