Striker Andrea Caracciolo is desperate to see Brescia turn their season around, starting with the visit of Sampdoria on Sunday.
The Rondinelle started the season well with three wins from their opening four games, but since then they have been in freefall, having not recorded a victory since September 22.
Last weekend’s 3-0 thumping at the hands of Serie A leaders AC Milan was the final straw for the club’s board and they sacked coach Giuseppe Iachini, appointing Mario Baretta as his replacement.
And Caracciolo said: “Iachini’s sacking is a moral defeat for us all. Against AC Milan we gave a negative image and that is something we must avoid doing again.
“We have to find that fighting spirit we had back in September when we beat Roma.
“Iachini led the team to Serie A last season and we thank him for everything he has done.
“Now with Beretta we have a new beginning. I wish our new coach the luck that Iachini did not have.”
While the hosts have been in dismal form, opponents Sampdoria enter this game in sixth place following a 3-0 victory over Bari last time out.
