Ajax will be looking to keep pace with the top two when they play host to FC Groningen on Sunday.
The Amsterdam-based outfit are third in Holland’s Eredivisie and head into the 30th round of fixtures just two points behind second-placed PSV Eindhoven and five points behind leaders FC Twente, who currently occupy the two Champions League berths.
Groningen, meanwhile, still have a slim chance of snatching a Europa League berth, which is currently held by Ajax, so a victory in this one is a must if they are to close the eight-point deficit.
While Ajax head into this game on the back of a 3-0 win over Heracles, FC Groningen edged VVV-Venlo, 3-2, last time out.
