Valencia v Sevilla live preview

Football News Staff - 20 Mar 2011
Valencia striker Aritz Aduriz has urged his team-mates to put their recent disappointments behind them.

Los Che were knocked out of the Champions League with a 3-1 defeat to Schalke and then, for the first time in two years, suffered a second successive loss with an embarrassing 4-0 hammering at the hands of Real Zaragoza.

Valencia currently occupy the third and final Champions League qualifying berth in La Liga, and Aduriz has urged to team to not dwell on their last two results as they try to hold off the challenge of Villarreal.

Speaking ahead of today’s visit of Sevilla, he told AS: “It's important that we clear our heads and we need to beat Sevilla.

He added: “We're fine, but we`ve had two tough blows, especially the elimination from the Champions League which hurt us a lot because we were really confident of having another tie to enjoy.

“This is football and you need to lift yourselves.

“We couldn't against Zaragoza but we need to forget that as soon as possible and think that we have 10 finals left to get into the Champions League again.”

While Valencia were thrashed by Real Zaragoza, Sevilla held league leaders Barcelona to a 1-1 draw last time out.
