Mallorca v Valencia live preview

Football News Staff - 5 Mar 2011
Valencia coach Unai Emery is hoping to get the better of Mallorca when the two teams meet today.

Valencia have been beaten by their hosts in each of the last two seasons and Emery admits they are the two biggest disappointments in his time as manager of Los Che.

So he is keen to see his side leave Iberostar Stadium with three points as they look to move a step closer to securing Champions League football for next season.

He said: “My two greatest disappointments as coach of Valencia have come at Mallorca.

“Therefore, this is the game which motivates me the most in the whole season.

“We have already digested the Barcelona result (a defeat in midweek). Now the points against Mallorca are very important.”

While Valencia head into this game on the back of a 1-0 defeat to league-leaders Barcelona, Mallorca came from behind to claim a 2-1 victory at Espanyol last time out.
