Real Sociedad winger Francisco Sutil would be in ‘dreamland’ if the club secure European football for next season.
Sociedad, promoted from the second division last season, are just three points of the top six heading into tonight’s trip to Deportivo La Coruna.
However, they are still only 10 points off the relegation zone and Sutil, who was playing in the third tier of Spanish football only a year ago, insists La Real should not ignore that fact.
Sutil told AS: “To go from the Segunda B to Europe in one year would be a dream.
“We`re an ambitious team, but we need to be cautious, thinking first about getting enough points to stay up, and then we will go for the Europa League.
“Nobody should think that once we`ve achieved safety then we are going to relax, because we know how nice it is for a player to fight for that goal.”
While Real Sociedad head into this game on the back of a 1-1 draw with Levante, Deportivo La Coruna played out a goalless draw with Osasuna last time out.
