Fulham are to take legal action against Premier League chairman Sir David Richards, according to the BBC.
The Cottagers claim Richards was involved in Portsmouth’s sale of Peter Crouch to Tottenham last July.
With pressure on Portsmouth from Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs for unpaid tax, Fulham claim Richards prejudiced their position in relation to the transfer.
Fulham are furious that their £11m offer for the England striker was rejected in favour of Spurs’ £9m bid because the White Hart Lane club offered payment up front.
A Premier League spokesman said: “We cannot make any comment on this matter as it is subject to a legal challenge.”
