Fulham are hopeful striker Bobby Zamora will put pen-to-paper on a lucrative new deal with the Cottagers.
Zamora, who would have been in England’s squad for the Euro 2012 qualifiers had he not been injured, was linked with both Liverpool and Birmingham during the summer transfer windown.
But Cottagers assistant boss Mark Bowen has revealed talks are ongoing between the player and the club, and that a deal could be struck soon.
He said: “It has been ongoing for a few months and obviously way before (manager) Mark (Hughes) and I came in.
“But my understanding is that we are hopeful Bobby will agree a long-term contract with the club.”
