Clint Dempsey will not be joining Liverpool or Wolfsburg in January, according to the player’s agent.
Speculation has been growing that Fulham star Dempsey could be set for a reunion with former boss Roy Hodgson at Anfield, with German club Wolfsburg also believed to be interested in the United States international.
However his representative, Lyle Yorks, insists that while there is interest in Dempsey, there has been no approach for the Texas-born midfielder.
Yorks told MLSsoccer.com: “Some of it is just reports and some of it is accurate. There is interest in Clint, but there are no discussions right now.”
And when quizzed about the Liverpool and Wolfsburg rumours, he added: “These two are just reports at this point.
“But there’s always interest in Clint. It’s been that way for a long time. People will have him on their wish list.”
