Ajax manager Martin Jol snubs Fulham

Football News Staff - 20 Jul 2010

Ajax manager Martin Jol has snubbed the chance to succeed Roy Hodgson at Fulham.

The former Tottenham boss had been expected to take the post following talks with the Cottagers earlier this week, with reports suggesting Jol was unhappy over the uncertain futures of some of the Dutch club’s star players.

But following last-ditch talks with Ajax, Jol will now remain in Holland and send Fulham back to the drawing board with the new season less than a month away.

He told De Telegraaf: “(Fulham) were interested but in principle I will stay at Ajax.”
