David Beckham: No Everton loan move

Football News Staff - 30 Nov 2010
Los Angeles Galaxy star David Beckham has ruled out joining Everton when the transfer window re-opens.

Beckham has had loan spells with AC Milan in each of Major League Soccer’s last two off-seasons, and the 35-year-old has been linked with another temporary switch in the New Year.

Toffees boss David Moyes revealed recently that he would love to be reunited with the former England captain, who played under the Scot while on loan at Preston 15 years ago.

But when asked about the possibility of him joining Everton, Beckham told Sky Sports News: “No, I spoke about this a few days ago when I was in Australia.

“It is always great to be wanted by different managers and different teams even if it’s on loan or a more permanent spell, it’s always nice.

“I have got a great respect for David Moyes from playing with him at Preston. I think he has done an amazing job at Everton, but I am a Man United fan – it’s too close to home.”
