Chelsea captain John Terry could return next weekend, manager Carlo Ancelotti has revealed.
Terry has been troubled by a nerve problem in his leg and admitted earlier this month that he was facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
But having visited several specialists regarding the injury the problem appears to be improving, and Ancelotti is keen to have his skipper back in the fold with centre-back partner Alex set for knee surgery.
And the Italian has admitted he could consider naming Terry in his squad for the game against Everton next weekend.
The Italian told Sky Sports: “I hope John Terry will be back for next week. He will start to train on Tuesday and I hope everything is OK.”
He continued: “He is important to us. He is a fantastic player, has personality and it is important we have him back for the next game.
“(Alex) will have the operation this week. He will go to Brazil for the surgery, maybe Monday.”
