Chelsea striker Fernando Torres is refusing to panic despite his failure to score for the Stamford Bridge outfit.
The Blues splashed out a British-record £50m fee to capture Torres from Liverpool during the January transfer window, but the Spain international is yet to find the net in seven appearances.
However, Torres insists his scoring drought is not weighing on his mind, and he is confident he will soon rediscover the goalscoring form that made him one of world football’s most lethal forwards.
The 27-year-old said: “I am not anxious about the fact that I haven't scored my first goal for Chelsea. This is an issue for the papers, not for me.
“I am confident that the goal will soon come, but it is more important that Chelsea win than I score.”
Torres’ exit from Liverpool angered the Anfield faithful but he insists the move was purely down to his desire to win trophies, and he believes Chelsea can overhaul the nine-point gap between themselves and leaders Manchester United.
He added: “I came to Chelsea to win titles and make the most of my career.
“I would not count Chelsea out of the title race in the Premier League. There is still a chance.”
