Carlo Ancelotti: Fernando Torres goal drought no worry

Football News Staff - 8 Mar 2011
Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti insists he has no concerns over Fernando Torres’ current goal drought.

The Italian splashed out a British-record £50m fee to sign Torres from Liverpool at the end of the January transfer window, but the Spanish World Cup winner is yet to score in five matches for the Blues.

However, Ancelotti has been pleased with Torres’ performances in a Blues shirt, and the Chelsea boss is confident the goals will soon come for the 26-year-old.

Ancelotti said: “He is showing good movement; he showed good movement with Drogba in the first half (against Blackpool on Monday night).

“I think they played well, it was a good combination at the start of the game.

“I didn't ask them to play closer, I wanted them to spread the Blackpool defence.

“It is important he works for the team and he is doing that now and game by game he will improve and he will score.

“We are happy about his performance. He is a top scorer and he will score, this is not a problem.”
