Jimmy Bullard completes Ipswich loan move

Football News Staff - 27 Jan 2011
Ipswich Town have signed Hull City midfielder Jimmy Bullard on loan until the end of the season.

The 32-year-old has been plagued by injury since making a £5m switch to the KC Stadium, from Fulham, two years ago, and further problems have restricted him to just nine appearances during this campaign.

The Tigers had been looking of offload Bullard in the summer as they attempted to lower their wage bill following relegation from the Premier League, but they had been unable to find any takers.

However, new Town boss Paul Jewell, who managed the player at Wigan Athletic, has now set up a reunion at Portman Road.

Jewell told the Tractor Boys’ official website: “I know Jimmy well from our days at Wigan and he will give us something different in the middle of the park.

“He has played in the Premier League, has a lot of experience. He is a good technician, a good passer of the ball. He's also a great character and will improve our squad.”
