Danny Shittu to join Millwall

Football News Staff - 20 Oct 2010

Former Bolton defender Danny Shittu has agreed to join Championship side Millwall.

The 30-year-old left Wanderers in the summer after the two parties agreed to cancel his contract at the Reebok Stadium, and had been linked with a lucrative move to the Middle East.

But instead Shittu has agreed to make the move to the newly-promoted Lions, and will put pen-to-paper on a deal on Friday.

He told Millwall’s official website: “The move ticks all the right boxes for me.

“I’m excited to be coming here and I hope to help Millwall push up the table.

“I know a bit about the club from friends who are supporters and everything I’ve heard has been positive.”

It will be the second time the Nigeria international has worked with Kenny Jackett having worked with the Lions manager at Queens Park Rangers earlier in his career.
