Shakhtar Donetsk v Barcelona preview

Football News Staff - 12 Apr 2011
Barcelona are without Carles Puyol and Bojan Krkic for tonight’s Champions League trip to Shakhtar Donetsk.

Barca have travelled to Ukraine with a 5-1 lead from the first leg of this quarter-final tie, but the Catalan giants have left behind injured pair Puyol and Bojan.

Puyol has been sidelined since suffering a knee injury at the end of January, while Bojan could miss the rest of the season after suffering knee ligament damage during Barca’s game at the weekend.

And also missing for Pep Guardiola’s side is Andres Iniesta after he picked up his second booking of the competition during the first leg.

Meanwhile, Shakhtar Donetsk boss Mircea Lucescu is sweating over the fitness of captain Darijo Srna.

Srna picked up a thigh injury this past weekend and has been given a “20% chance” of playing, meaning he is likely to join former Barcelona man Dmytro Chygrynskiy (ankle) on the sidelines.

Luiz Adriano (muscle) is doubtful for the hosts, but Donetsk are definitely without Olexandr Kucher (knee), Olexandr Chyzhov (unspecified) and Razvan Rat (suspension).
