Manchester United v Marseille preview

Football News Staff - 15 Mar 2011
Nani has been included in Manchester United’s squad for tonight’s second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie with Marseille.

The Portuguese winger sustained a nasty gash to his leg during the recent Premier League defeat to Manchester United and had been expected to face a couple of weeks on the sidelines.

However, Nani has been included in Sir Alex Ferguson’s squad for this evening’s game at Old Trafford, and he is joined by Michael Carrick, with the midfielder having overcome a groin problem.

Captain Nemanja Vidic looks to have recovered from a knock in time to face Marseille, while Antonio Valencia could feature after making his return from a broken leg at the weekend.

But United are without Rio Ferdinand (calf) and Park Ji-Sung (hamstring) as they look to join Premier League counterparts Tottenham in the quarter-finals.

Meanwhile, Marseille pair Mathieu Valbuena (knee) and Andre-Pierre Gignac (groin) look to have shrugged off their respective injuries in time for the trip to England.

The two teams played out a goalless draw when they met in the first leg at the Stade Velodrome.
