Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed he will rest players for tonight’s second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie with FC Copenhagen.
The Blues cruised to a 2-0 victory in the first leg in Denmark, and Ancelotti will use the chance to leave some of his first-team regulars out of the match ahead of this weekend’s clash with Manchester City.
Fernando Torres is expected to be one of those rested, while fellow January arrival David Luiz is ineligible.
Alex (knee) and Yossi Benayoun (Achilles) have returned to training following their respective injuries, but this game comes too soon for them to be involved.
Meanwhile, FC Copenhagen are sweating over the fitness of defender Mikael Antonsson (muscle), but Martin Bergvold is available having overcome a knee injury.
Winger Jesper Gronkjaer will make his first appearance at the Bridge since leaving Chelsea in 2004.
