Nuremburg coach Dieter Hecking has set his side a top-eight target ahead of today’s trip to Wolfsburg.
Nuremburg’s pre-season aim was to avoid relegation to the second tier, and they have ensured their top-flight status for another campaign with a superb run of form that has seen them lose just once so far in 2011.
And Hecking is keen to see his men, who still have an outside chance of qualifying for Europe, keep that run going over the final nine games of the Bundesliga season.
He said: “We are enjoying our football at the moment and obviously, with 39 points, we are free from any worries and, instead, have lots of happy moments.
“This is a satisfying time and we don't want to put our feet up and have nine weeks of holiday - we want to get as many points as possible.
“If we can maintain the consistency we have, then we could finish inside the top eight.”
While Nuremberg head into this game on the back of a 5-1 hammering of FC St Pauli, Wolfsburg were comprehensively beaten by Bayer Leverkusen, 3-0, last time out.
