Wolfsburg begin life without Steve McClaren when they entertain Hamburg in the Bundesliga this afternoon.
Die Wolfe parted company with the former England boss earlier this week with the club just one point above the relegation zone.
Former West Germany international Pierre Littbarski has been placed in charge, and the 40-year-old insists there is no need to make too many changes Wolfsburg look to kick-start their campaign.
He said: “There is absolutely no need to criticise Steve McClaren's work.
“I spoke with him yesterday on the phone and we exchanged views, which was very important to me. We discussed a few things and wished each other luck.
“But changes are not going to be required - we just need to fine-tune a few things.
“A change in coach always gives motivation, particularly to players who have been on the fringes, and I have seen that in the last few days.
“Therefore, I hope everybody has a clear mind and that they are all now concentrating fully on playing football.”
Wolfsburg’s 1-0 defeat to Hannover 96 proved to be McClaren’s last stand, while Hamburg head into this game on the back of a 2-0 loss to Nuremberg.
