Felix Magath believes the Volkswagen-Arena crowd can inspire Wolfsburg to a much-needed victory over Eintracht Frankfurt today.
The 57-year-old recently began his second stint as manager of Die Wolfe just days after his sacking from FC Schalke, and he led his new charges to a 1-1 draw with Stuttgart before the international break.
However, 17th-placed Wolfsburg are still languishing in the relegation zone, three points from safety, and while only a heavy win would haul them out of the bottom three, three points would move them within a point of their 14th-placed visitors.
And Magath has called upon the fans to play their part in the game.
He said: “I could have imagined the fans being pleased to have me back, but the euphoria and warmth that I have been welcomed with has been simply fantastic.
“I am still impressed by it all now and I am looking forward to my first game back in the Arena even more.
“I am convinced there will be a great atmosphere and the fans will play their part in us playing a good game.”
While Wolfsburg held Stuttgart to a 1-1 draw prior to the international break, Eintracht Frankfurt boosted their fight against relegation with a 2-1 win over St Pauli last time out.
