SC Freiburg v Bayern Munich live preview

Football News Staff - 19 Mar 2011
Bayern Munich midfielder Thomas Muller insists they cannot afford to drop any more points if they are to take something from this season.

Munich surrendered a one-goal advantage to crash out of the Champions League at the hands of Inter Milan in midweek, ending their hopes of lifting any more silverware this season.

Now their focus must be to ensure they are back among Europe’s elite again next season, but they are currently two points behind Hannover in the third and final qualifying spot.

And Muller said: “We have a lot to put right and cannot afford to lose any more.

“In the last eight games, we will see a side who will give everything from the very first to the very last minute.

“We have got to go full throttle eight more times, and then we will be second or third.”

He added: “We are under pressure, but we are ambitious and we want to put a few things right.

“The important thing for the next few games is that we stick together as a team and don't let anything pull us apart.”

While Bayern Munich ended their domestic struggles with a 6-0 rout of Hamburg, SC Freiburg’s losing run was extended to three games with a 2-1 defeat at Kaiserslautern.
