Mainz will look to strengthen their Europa League push when they host rock-bottom Borussia Monchengladbach this evening.
Mainz are currently fifth in the Bundesliga, the final qualifying berth, and hold a slender two-point advantage over sixth-placed Nuremberg with just five games remaining this season.
Therefore three points are a must as Mainz look to hold off the chasing pack, and they now face a Borussia Monchengladbach side that need a victory or they will slide one step closer to relegation.
Monchengladbach are four points from safety and just two points from the lottery of the relegation play-off spot, which is currently occupied by Wolfsburg.
While Mainz head into this game on the back of a 2-0 defeat at Hannover 96, Borussia Monchengladbach will be looking to build on a huge 5-1 victory at Cologne last time out.
