Hamburg v St Pauli live preview

Football News Staff - 16 Feb 2011
Hamburg director of sport Bastian Reinhardt does not believe St Pauli midfielder Thomas Lehmann should be banned for tonight’s re-arranged game.

Lehmann is waiting for the result of an investigation into his actions at the weekend when the 27-year-old admitted to falling to the ground dramatically in order to get an opposition player, Borussia Monchengladbach’s Igor de Camargo, sent off.

However, Reinhardt believes Lehmann should be allowed to feature in the game, even though his absence would be a big plus-point for Hamburg.

Reinhardt told his club’s official website: “This just shows that sometimes it is not good to be honest. However, I hope that he is not suspended.

“They should come here with their best team and then we can have a good match. Hamburg are favourites, and that will always be the case.”

While Hamburg ran out 1-0 winners at Wolfsburg in their most recent Bundesliga outing, St Pauli secured a 3-1 victory over Borussia Monchengladbach.
