Nuremberg are looking to extend their winning run to five games when they travel to FC Schalke 04 today.
Dieter Hecking’s side have pretty much secured their Bundesliga status for another year with their fine form, and if they keep this sequence going they could stake a claim for a Europa League spot.
But, for now, Hecking sees this run of form as the perfect ‘advertisement’ for the Frankenstadion outfit.
He said: “We want to remain unbeaten, get more points and use the positive attention we are receiving to do a bit of advertising for our club.
“The weather is good, the atmosphere is good and there is nothing negative to say right now.
“The (DFB-Pokal) cup game (in which Nuremberg lost to Schalke) is obviously still in the back of our minds, but this game is a different competition.”
Hecking added: “Schalke have done a lot right, mostly in the DFB-Pokal and Champions League this season.
“Schalke is never an easy game and we are very aware of how difficult our task will be.”
Nuremberg’s most recent success was a comfortable 3-0 success against Eintracht Frankfurt, while FC Schalke 04 suffered a disappointing 2-1 defeat to the Bundesliga’s bottom side, Borussia Monchengladbach.
