FC Nuremberg coach Dieter Hecking insists today’s visit of Werder Bremen is not a must-win game for his side.
Der Club are currently riding high on an eight-game unbeaten run that has seen them move within a point of fifth-placed Mainz, who occupy the final qualifying berth for the Europa League.
But Hecking is refusing to pile too much pressure on his players, admitting they are likely to drop points over the final eight games.
He said: “A win is not a must.
“We have eight tough games ahead of us and I don't think that we can come through them all unscathed.
“But that does not mean that we are going to relax now.”
Hecking added: “We are delighted that people are talking about Europe, but it is still too early for us to talk about it.”
While FC Nuremberg recorded their second successive win by beating Wolfsburg 2-1, Werder Bremen were held to a 1-1 draw by Borussia Monchengladbach last time out.
