Eintracht Frankfurt coach Michael Skibbe is confident his side can finally end their 2011 slump against Bayer Leverkusen today.
Frankfurt have not scored since the start of year to fall off the pace for a Europa League spot, but Skibbe has set his sights on putting that right against former club Leverkusen.
Speaking ahead of the Waldstadion showdown, he said: “They are an excellent team who should probably have achieved more than their current second place.
“They play good football and have excellent players, but they have also shown weaknesses in recent matches.
“We want to capitalise on these weaknesses. We want not only to score our first goal this year, but to register our first win.”
He added: “What we are lacking is that ruthlessness in front of goal. But also that famous bit of luck.”
Eintracht Frankfurt ended a three-match losing run with a goalless draw at SC Freiburg last time out, while Bayer Leverkusen were beaten by Nuremberg, 1-0.
