Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp believes today’s clash with SC Freiburg will be crucial in the Bundesliga title race.
Dortmund currently hold a five-point lead over Bayer Leverkusen at the top of Germany’s top tier, with their title rivals visiting Bayern Munich today.
If Leverkusen suffer a defeat at the hands of the Allianz Arena giants and Dortmund clinch the three points against SC Freiburg, Klopp’s men could wrap up the title when they face rock-bottom Borussia Monchengladbach next weekend.
The Dortmund boss said: “It is super Sunday in the Bundesliga. And we are up at 1730.”
And Klopp then called on the club’s supporters to play their part in the march to the title, with an 80,000 sell-out crowd expected at the Westfalenstadion today.
He added: “We are happy to have the fans lift us and anybody who wants to help out in making it an extraordinary atmosphere is more than welcome.”
While Borussia Dortmun head into this game on the back of a 1-1 draw at Hamburg, SC Freiburg will be looking to build on a 3-2 victory over Hoffenheim last time out.
