Wolfsburg coach Pierre Littbarski has told his side to ignore the league table ahead of today’s trip to Bayer Leverkusen.
Die Wolfe have endured a disappointing season so far and find themselves just two points clear of the relegation play-off spot, while Leverkusen are flying high in second place in the fight for a Champions League spot.
But Littbarski, who took charge following the departure of Steve McClaren, believes, with the exception of runaway leaders Borussia Dortmund, any team is capable of beating another in the Bundesliga this season.
He said: “We are going to Leverkusen with the aim of winning.
“The important thing is that we go there with a renewed self-confidence after our victory over Gladbach and we have a chance of winning three points in every match.”
While Wolfsburg earned three much-needed points with a 2-1 win over Borussia Monchengladbach last time out, Bayer Leverkusen were held to a 2-2 draw by Werder Bremen.
