Bolton midfielder Stuart Holden has signed a new three-and-a-half year contract.
The 25-year-old United States international, who joined from Major League Soccer side Houston Dynamo earlier this year, has impressed manager Owen Coyle enough over the last nine months to land a long-term deal.
And Holden, originally from Scotland, told Wanderers’ official website: “I’m really excited because I love being at the club. I couldn’t ask to be around better fans, management staff and players.
“I was given an opportunity by the manager to show that I can play at this level and I’m extremely grateful for that. The confidence that he has shown in me has really allowed me to push on.”
He added: “Everybody was so welcoming when I first came to the club, which made the transition a lot easier than it could have been.
“I feel that I have fitted in well and because I’m comfortable in my surroundings and where I live then I think that has shown in my football.”
