Bolton striker Kevin Davies has revealed he snubbed the chance to play for the Scottish national team.
The 33-year-old, capped at U21 level for England, was approached by a member of the Scottish Football Association last season but admits he did not pursue the matter.
Davies told the Bolton Evening News: “They wanted to know if I had any Scottish relatives and to be honest, I wasn’t too sure at the time, so I didn’t take it any further.
“You’d think with a name like Davies, I’m more likely to have Welsh blood in me.
“As far as I’m concerned I’m English, so I didn’t really take it on.”
