Blackpool have completed the signing of Ghana international goalkeeper Richard Kingson.

The 32-year-old was able to sign after the transfer deadline having been a free agent since leaving Premier League rivals Wigan earlier this summer.

Club secretary Matt Williams told the Seasiders’ official website: “Richard flew in from Ghana on Wednesday morning, completed his medical and paperwork before heading back out on Thursday morning to link up with his national team ahead of their game on Sunday with Swaziland.”

Kingson has been named in Blackpool’s 24-man squad for the Premier League and will provide cover for current number one Matthew Gilks in the absence of injured Paul Rachubka.
