Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean has received a vote of confidence from the club’s owners.
Rovers have lost five of their last six games and now sit just two points above the relegation zone, and speculation at the weekend suggested the Scot could be sacked after less than three months in charge.
But chairwoman Anuradha Desai has move to quash those rumours, insisting there are no plans to remove Kean.
She told the club’s official website: “I do not know the source of these rumours but I would like to clarify that there is absolutely no truth in these reports.
“I would like to put on record that we have a contract with Steve Kean and he will continue in his present position with the club.
“There is no question of the manager being changed.”
And co-owner Venkatesh Rao told Sky Sports News: “Yes, we are very concerned (with the recent results), but we are now trying to improve all aspects.
“Plans are looking very positive and I am sure in the future we will do something better.”
