Blackburn defender Pascal Chimbonda has confirmed he would be willing to sign a new contract.
The versatile Frenchman, in the final year of his contract at Ewood Park, saw a proposed deadline-day move to West Ham collapse last week.
And, with reports that boss Sam Allardyce is poised to offer him a new deal, Chimbonda has revealed he would be happy to pledge his long-term future to the Lancashire club.
The former Tottenham man told skysports.com: “It is true West Ham tried to sign me on transfer deadline day, but Blackburn decided to keep me.
“The chairman told me I was too important to the team to sell as I can play at right-back, left-back or centre-back.
“I have heard rumours about a new contract and I would be happy to sit down with the club and discuss a new deal to stay at Blackburn.”
