Blackburn Rovers will investigate the allegations made against forward El-Hadji Diouf, manager Steve Kean has confirmed.
The Senegal international has been accused of abusing Queens Park Rangers striker Jamie Mackie moments after the Scotland man suffered a horrific double leg break in their FA Cup clash at the weekend.
Mackie claimed: “He called me a disgrace - but that wasn't the worst of it. He said: 'F*** you and f*** your leg.'”
Following the game QPR boss Neil Warnock branded Diouf the “lowest of the low”, while goalkeeper Paddy Kenny wrote on his Twitter account: “Diouf will get it one day, what goes around comes around.”
And Rovers boss Kean has now confirmed the Ewood Park outfit will be looking into the incident, which has overshadowed their 1-0 victory.
He said: “We are trying to investigate absolutely everything and we are speaking with the players who were on the pitch and with El-Hadji.
“Hopefully, whatever comes out will be the full story and we will act on that.”
