Carling Cup final hero Obafemi Martins admits he does not know if he will be at Birmingham City next season.
The 26-year-old Nigerian, who is currently on loan from Russian outift Rubin Kazan, wrote his name in the club’s history books by netting the winner as Blues stunned Arsenal, 2-1, at Wembley Stadium this past weekend.
However, parent club Kazan have confirmed that no deal is in place for Martins’ loan to become a permanent switch in the summer, although Blues do have the option of signing the former Newcastle United striker for a fee of £5m.
So, for now, Martins insists he is concentrating solely on helping Birmingham City retain their Premier League status, starting with this weekend’s crunch clash with Midlands rivals West Brom.
He told the Birmingham Mail: “I don't know anything. I'm still on loan and I just want to be with the team, scoring goals, and we will see what is going to happen.”
