Birmingham have made Chile international Jean Beausejour their third signing of transfer deadline day.
The 26-year-old midfielder has joined Blues from Mexican side Club America in a deal worth around £4m, following Alexander Hleb and Martin Jiranek to St Andrew’s.
Beausejour has penned a three-year contract and boss Alex McLeish was pleased to land the player, who he had been scouting since before the Wold Cup earlier this summer.
McLeish told Blues’ official website: “Beausejour is an excellent, left-sided midfielder who had a tremendous World Cup with Chile.
“He was their star player against Spain and also played very well in a pre-season friendly against Manchester City recently.
“He has been on our list of targets for a long time because he is strong and quick with the ability to beat his man and get crosses in.”
