Birmingham manager Alex McLeish has confirmed the club have made an improved offer for Wigan winger Charles N’Zogbia.
Blues had a bid for the 24-year-old Frenchman rejected at the end of last season, but McLeish is now hoping a second approach could prove successful after N’Zogbia recently expressed his desire to leave the DW Stadium.
The Scot said: “We’ve made another bid for Charles and we wait to see if it is successful or not.
“We’ve had no response but we’re hopeful that the player will come in. If there’s other clubs in for him then we’ll have to wait and see.
“But we’ve tried and we’ve tried our best. The directors and the board have worked hard to make these kind of things happen.”
