Birmingham have completed the loan signing of Olympiakos striker Matt Derbyshire.
The 24-year-old former Blackburn man will spend the entire season at St Andrews with a view to making a permanent switch next summer.
Derbyshire began his career with non-league side Great Harwood Town before signing a deal with Rovers in 2003, where he had been a coach in the club’s community office.
He went on to score 20 goals in 86 appearances for the Ewood Park outfit, while also having loan spells at both Plymouth and Wrexham, before joining Olympiakos in 2009.
Derbyshire netted 11 times in 26 games for the Greek club, with his most memorable goal an equaliser against fierce rivals AEK Athens in the Greek Cup final last year.
