Aston Villa midfielder Steve Sidwell is undergoing a medical with West Ham, it has been confirmed.
Former Chelsea Reading man Sidwell was earlier this week linked with a move to the rock-bottom Hammers when the transfer window reopens next month.
And Villa boss Gerard Houllier has confirmed the xx-year-old is currently at Upton Park edging closer to a switch.
The Frenchman said: “Steve is having a medical. He’s at the end of his contract (in the summer).”
And Houllier also suggested a move to Wolves could have been on the cards, but claims Sidwell was keen on a return to the South.
He added: “It’s not a secret that he lives in London. Otherwise I think Wolves would be interested in signing him.”
