Emile Heskey snubs England return - report

Football News Staff - 3 Oct 2010

Emile Heskey has turned down the chance to make an England comeback, according to Sky Sports.

Heskey quit international football earlier this summer, but his recent fine form for Aston Villa has led England boss Fabio Capello to approach the 32-year-old about a return for the Euro 2012 qualifier against Montenegro.

The Italian, who names his squad on Monday, said: “I saw Heskey against Wolves and he played very well and he is in a good moment.

“The new Villa manager (Gerard Houllier) knows him very well from his time at Liverpool.

“We will try to speak with Heskey. We need him at this moment. We will try to speak with him. But he will decide.”

However, it is believed Heskey has since told Capello’s assistant Franco Baldini that he has no interest in returning to the England fold.
