Winger Ashley Young is eager to sign a contract extension with Aston Villa.
The 25-year-old wide man, who has two years remaining on his current deal at Villa Park, has been linked with move to Tottenham in recent months.
But Young is keen to stay at Villa Park and continue working under Gerard Houllier, who became Martin O’Neill’s successor last month.
The England international, who joined from Watford in an £8m switch just over three years ago, said: “I am delighted with the manager and the new regime and the way things are going.
“I’ve got two years left on my contract and I’m just concentrating on the football side of things and I am sure everything will get sorted.”
