Samir Nasri: Old Trafford trip nothing to fear

Football News Staff - 13 Dec 2010
Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri claims Old Trafford has lost its fear factor.

The Gunners travel north to face Manchester United this evening knowing that a victory would see them go three points clear at the top of the Premier League, four points ahead of their hosts.

Arsenal have won just one of their last 10 visits to the “Theatre of Dreams” but Nasri claims it is no longer a daunting venue now that the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez has moved on.

The Frenchman said: “For me Manchester United is not the same team as before, with Cristiano Ronaldo and Tevez it was a little bit scary to play at Old Trafford.

“Now I don't think offensively they are the same as before, but still they are a good team and when they are 1-0 up is very hard to beat them.

“We will see, but we are really confident to get a result out of this game.”

While the Gunners have already lost three times at the Emirates Stadium this season, they have enjoyed success on their travels, winning five times.

And Nasri added: “The difference when we play away is that we defend much better. Our discipline and shape is more efficient when we play away.

“I am quite confident because we can play our game and we know we can score at any moment away.

“We have to reproduce this kind of game at home and to be more efficient at home as well.”
